North Antelope Rochelle Mine – Transfer Towers and Crushers
Matrix PDM Engineering provided the structural design and general arrangement drawings of three transfer towers and a crusher tower for the North Antelope Rochelle Mine.
This project was in conjunction to the portable in-pit crusher and breaker-feeder that Matrix PDM previously designed. The facility mines Powder River Basin (PRB) coal from three mines for distribution via railcars.
Matrix PDM provided detailed design of three transfer towers to handle PRB coal with specific design modifications to help mitigate dust issues. The designs featured minimal ledges, to prevent the collection of dust build up, and sandwich panels to help deter dust from entering the walls of the structure.
Additionally, the crusher tower design that was provided also featured minimal ledges to facilitate easy clean up and reduce the dust build up in the system
