Ontelaunee Energy Center – Power Island Equipment Installation

Acting as the General Contractor at the Ontelaunee Energy Center, Matrix NAC was responsible for installing two (2) Siemens 501F 185 MW gas turbines, a Siemens Steam Turbine, and two (2) Nooter Erickson Heat Recovery Steam Generators (HRSGS).

In addition to the installation of the Power Island Equipment our scope of work consisted of the installation of all the Balance of Plant (BOP) equipment, piping, electrical, the field erected tanks and cooling tower. The project was successfully completed by utilizing direct hire labor supplemented with specialty subcontractors.

The execution of the project maximized the use of vendor fabricated skids and pre-assembly work in remote areas to minimize peak manpower and overall site congestion. The project was given the highest score by the customer among ongoing projects for their “Highest Quality Jobsite” program.
